Using Wind, Water, and Sun as
Alternative Forms of Energy
Although the number of alternative forms of energy
have been identified over the last several years, one that
stands out is solar, which is power that comes from the sun. Of
all energy solutions, the sun is without doubt the most
powerful, capable of producing enough power that could easily
sustain the entire world for years. The sun creates an
efficient energy and it is free. Therefore, using an
alternative form of energy such as the sun is actually
realistic and logical and in fact, many experts believe that
this one alternative form of energy could be enough to replace
the more conventional solutions while maintaining the
future.
Do High Latitudes
Effect Natural Energy?
While solar energy is a viable solution, there are some
parts of the planet where this particular alternative form of
energy would not work. For instance, geographic areas with high
latitudes or hot climates would be a problem in that the amount
of sunlight needed to make a significant difference is simply
not produced.
Another form of natural energy is wind. This alternative
form of energy is also highly efficient and when captured
correctly, it is very effective in producing electricity.
Interestingly, wind power is actually much more effective in
areas around coastlines. Additionally, when managed
appropriately, wind power can produce enough electricity to
handle about 25% of the world’s need for electricity. Then when
you consider that wind creates zero pollution, this means that
not only is a natural resource being used to generate
electricity but the flora and fauna around the globe is better
protected.
Another type of alternative form of energy is called
hydroelectricity, which is the use of water for producing
electricity. In this case, the energy source could be a water
dam but the challenge is the construction in that obviously,
dams need to be erected only in areas where massive amounts of
water are stored without much effort.
One alternative form of energy that has not received as much
attention as others is tidal energy. Although the concept is
similar to hydroelectricity, tidal energy is actually on a
smaller scale but this too is an alternative source of energy
capable of producing alcohol. With this, vehicles can be
powered without the need for highly toxic gasoline.
Next, a type of geothermal power is known as fusion nuclear.
While this is actually another alternative form of energy,
fusion nuclear is not something to use in that it would be
highly damaging to the earth and environment.
Sadly, many people of all walks of life are starting to feel
the stress associated with the energy crunch and for good
reason. Therefore, this is the time to take action by
developing large scale solutions using water, wind, or the sun.
With this, energy could be produced in an efficient manner.
While each alternative form of energy is going to have some
challenges, doing something is better than doing nothing at
all.
